The Guide's Edition Synik is a limited edition version of the Synik 30, which itself is a variation of the original Synapse 19 / 25. It's true home is the woods or the mountains, yet it can easily inhabit the urban landscape out of necessity.... just like we do.

What's different in The Guide's Edition Synik 30 vs. the Synik 30:

- Trimmed and lined in Coyote brown; brown blends in more readily with natural surroundings and doesn't show dirt as much. When it does get a bit dusty or dirty, it looks like it's supposed to.

- One diamond accessory strap holder on the top front and a corresponding ice-axe loop below, allowing you to carry an ice axe for high-country, early-season mountaineering or a tripod for urban photography. If you go that route, or think you're gonna secure something else similar to the front make sure to pick up an optional Ice Axe Lash Strap. Being the thoughtful types we are, we added an additional zipper slider -- that makes two, not just one -- on the bottom pocket of the Guide's Edition Synik 22. In the event that you decide to strap an ice axe or tripod on the front of the bag, the two zipper sliders will make it a little easier to access the contents of that front bottom pocket.

- Two diamond accessory strap holders on the bottom of the bag. If you opt for the optional Lash Straps (sold in pairs), you can secure foldable hiking poles, an ultralight folding chair, icy gaiters or a wet raincoat to the bottom of the pack.

- An official Leave No Trace tag with a TOM BIHN Coyote Key Strap Snaphook; the tag lists the 10 principles of Leave No Trace. The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is one of the organizations we support through our commitment to 1% For The Planet.

What’s different in the Synik vs. the Synapse:
- Full clamshell AKA panel zipper opening
- Removable internal tie-down straps
- Two-point access suspended laptop compartment
- Our new Edgeless EV50 1/2” shoulder straps
- Fully integrated yet removable internal frame with aluminum half-stay
- Rolling luggage handle pass-through
- Updated grab handle
- Label moved to lower right corner
- A padded bottom, and a couple more o-rings.

The Synik 30 can fit laptops up to 15” like the MacBook Pro Retina Touchbar or Microsoft Surface Book 2 15". It’s no biggie in practice, but note you’ll need to do a two-point turn to fit the bigger laptops in the exterior side access to the laptop compartment (not necessary if using the internal laptop compartment access).
